BAO på Skansen!

Jag har varit på Skansen och lyssnat på min favoritmusik.
BAO, alltså Benny Anderssons Orkester. Sångerskan heter
Helen Sjöholm.

The Benny from world-famous ABBA and the singer is Helen Sjoholm!

Skärgårdsbåtens Dag. Archipelago Boat Day.

Traditionsenligt firades Skärgårdsbåtens Dag den första
onsdagen i juni. Ångbåtarna kör i eskader ut till Vaxholm
och det är folkligt och fullsatt. Vid resans mål är kajen full
av folk och det är marknad med dans, musik, mat och dryck.

Traditionally the Archipelago Boat Day was celebrated the
first Wednesday in June. All the old steamers are leaving
togeather for a trip to Vaxholm, a journey of some more than
one hour. At the goal there is a lot of people on the quay to
welcome the ships. There is dance, music, food and drinks.

the departure.

Skärgårdsbåtens Dag. Archipelago Boat Day.

Jag åkte med Norrskär och åt en god middag ombord
på Storskär vid kaj i Vaxholm.
I went with Norrskar and had a good dinner onboard Storskar
at the quay in Vaxholm. One evening in early June is dedicated
to the white boats of the archipelago - in Swedish "Skärgårdsbåtens dag".
The whole fleet of old, genuine steam ships and other passenger
boats will leave Stockholm from Strömkajen for a trip to the small
town Vaxholm. The voyage lasts one and a half hour. In Vaxholm,
all shops and restaurants are open and quickly filled with people.
There is live music in several places and the folk-dance team is
performing. After a couple of hours in Vaxholm, the boats will
return to Stockholm. This is a unique opportunity to see all the
old steamships leave Stockholm at the same time in a "steam parade"!
